BMI Calculator

Calculate your Body Mass Index from height and weight.

What is BMI?

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight. It is widely used to categorize adults as underweight, normal weight, overweight, or obese. BMI = weight (kg) ÷ height (m)². It does not distinguish between muscle and fat, so it is a screening tool, not a diagnostic.

How to use this BMI calculator

Enter your height in centimeters or feet/inches and your weight in kilograms or pounds. The calculator will compute your BMI and show which category you fall into. Use it for a quick health snapshot; for medical advice, always consult a healthcare provider.

BMI categories

For adults, WHO guidelines are: Under 18.5 = Underweight; 18.5–24.9 = Normal; 25–29.9 = Overweight; 30 and above = Obese. These ranges may vary by region and age. BMI is not suitable for children, athletes, or pregnant women without adjusted interpretation.
